Gentleman Farmers sells wool from farms in Devon. We sell raw fleece both greasy and clean in a variety of weights to suit your needs. All of our fibre is skirted and picked to remove the worst of the dirt and vegetable matter so you get as much usable fleece as possible.
Through our news page we'll bring you as much information about fleece from specific breeds and its uses to reviews from our resident dyers, spinners, knitters and weavers.
Devon's wool trade was built on the back of our fabulous longwool sheep. 3 of our native rare breeds have a long coat with long and lusterous staples up to 14 inches. All breeds of Longwool sheep thrive in Devon's countryside with fleeces changing in nature between those reared in the lowland pastures and upland moorland.
Suitable for spinning, art yarns, dolls hair and felting they are gorgeous to play with for any project.
Alongside wool and locks The Gentleman Farmers is working with wool lovers in the county who spin, dye and create batts, yarns and art yarns from our local sustainable wool sources.
A selection of batts and yarns are available to buy via The Gentleman Farmers and commissions are available.
We are developing a knitted clothing and home range so everyone can enjoy Devon wool.
